The two convicts were also ordered to compensate the complainant with the sum of three hundred thousand leones, and the particulars of the offence indicated that the accused persons conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony, to wit larceny, contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
Both accused persons had earlier pleaded guilty to the offence charged, but although they had no legal representation, they pleaded with the presiding magistrate on their behalf to tamper justice with mercy.
Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Binneh noted that the accused persons did not waste the court’s precious time, by pleading guilty to the offence charged.
He stressed that, he was sentencing both accused persons to twelve months imprisonment each, or pay a fine of five hundred thousand leones, and they should also compensate the complainant with the sum of three hundred thousand leones. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
