14-year-old girl gives birth safely in Bo

A 14 years old girl child (name withheld) has successfully given birth to a bouncing baby girl at the Bo Government Hospital.

The young mother was sexually abused by a commercial motor-bike rider in 2022 and abandoned by her own relatives before she was rescued by the Kindermissionwerk /KZE Girl’s Shelter Project of Commit and Act Foundation in Bo.

Through funding support from Kindermissionwerk/KZE in Germany, the Commit and Act Foundation Girl’s Shelter continue to provide a temporary safe home, legal, educational, psychological, prosocial and psychosocial and livelihood support for survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and their parents.

The new born baby has also been enrolled into another project titled; One Day Hope Baby Shelter. The project seek to provide care and support to babies that are born as a result of sexual penetration, rape and other form of Sexual and  Gender-Based Violence so that their mothers can  continue with their education.
