2023 Elections: EC-SL unveils 3,630 Voting Centers, 11,832 Stations

The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (EC-SL) has informed the public in an official statement that the June 24th 2023 General Elections for President, Parliament and Local Councils, citizens will have access to 11,832 Polling Stations within 3,630 Polling Centers where they can cast their votes.

The EC-SL has also released the quantum of money required for various Nomination processes as well as the time frame period within which all nominations for various categories of contestants, should have been completed.

The Nomination Fees for those contesting is all stated by EC-SL to be consonant with the Public Elections Act 2022. They are calculated using a mathematical formula that involves the country’s minimum daily wage.

The EC-SL said Paramount Chief Members of Parliament (MPs) will be nominated between 30th March to 1st April 2023, Ordinary MPs and Presidential Candidates’ nominations are between 30th April to 9th May 2023 whilst nominations for all Local Councils elective positions will be between 19th to 28th April 2023.
