With lighting in the school, classes can go on later in the day, and students can complete homework at home after class. Whole communities that have for too long lived in difficult conditions will now see their quality of life improve tremendously.

Ignite team of engineers started the work on Sunday at 2pm after a briefing by the local leadership and the installation partners led by Pastor Momoh and the Rappaort team on Sunday and persevered until the work was completed that same day, eager to make sure all houses in the village had light before the night, for the first time.

This marks a significant milestone for Sierra Leone and proves that all villages and schools in the country can be connected to power within the next 4 years, to reach 100% clean energy access, shining a light of the continent. A brighter future is accessible today.

The advantages of solar power at home are many: they include households’ savings from the start, much higher productivity and less waste of time and money for all, better children education, better heath and safety for the family and a better environment for women.

The deployment was done with the generous support of the Rapaport Group, who has been supporting Sierra Leone’s economic growth and is committed to providing a better life to the people of the nation. It was completed with the blessing of Pastor Emmanuel Momoh.
