5 Bags Rice to One Police

According to him, the rank and file of the SLP are motivated enough; the reason why the force has been very proactive in tackling and quelling crime and lawlessness before it happens. He informed journalists that before now there was a backlog of five (5) bags of rice owed each police officer. He went on to say that he is proud to inform the general public that the five bags of rice backlog that was owed each police officer has been cleared, adding that all police officers went home in December happy and smiling.

He maintained that though the SLP is still facing some challenges and hiccups from time to time, he added that the SLP is now a seasoned, professional and disciplined force which now has many academics, professionals and technicians in its cadre. He said the SLP is doing so well that it is now a major factor in peacekeeping operations around the globe. He used the opportunity to prevail on the general public and the press to always collaborate with the police so that its work can be more effective, robust and transparent.

Other speakers at the press conference were AIG Thomas M. Lahai – Regional Commander (REGPOL) West and AIG Mohamed Braima Jah who spoke on what transpired at the former president Ernest Bai Koroma’s Makeni residence when CID investigators arrived there to conduct their investigations.
