Three of the suspects are said to be in police detention, one on the run and another yet to be identified.

Civil societies in that part of the country are said to have expressed dismay over the wicked act and also the careless manner in which the police are handling the issue.

Reports say this is not the first rape allegation involving police officers in Bo district. At the end of last year, a police officer attached to the same Division, was accused of raping his 12-year old daughter, but disappointingly, nothing came out of the elongated so-called police investigations.
