They are charged with the offences of Conspiracy and Murder, contrary to law.
The Particulars of the Offence indicated that the six accused persons being members of the Climax Club and students of Fourh Bay College, University of Sierra Leone conspired with other persons unknown to murder Albert Madison Bio.
According to the Charge Sheet the alleged murder occurred on 14th July 2018, at Sorie Town, Gloucester in the Mountain Rural District, where the Climax Club was carrying out its initiation ceremony of students.
One of the initiates, Eric Charlie Williams in his Evidence –in –Chief before Hon. Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay said he is a student of Fourah Bay College and also a member of the Climax Club.
He explained that he recalled the incident of 14 July 2018, and that on the aforementioned date, he was invited by members of the club to a particular location.
The witness told the court that on arrival at the said secluded location, some questions were posed to him by the club members, but that he received slaps for giving wrong answers to certain questions posed to him.
According to the second prosecution witness, Eric Charlie Williams, whilst at the said secluded location, he was instructed to squat and crawl and later he grew tired.
He further told the court that he was also instructed to roll on the bare floor and in the process he received some lashes on his back, after he had been blindfolded with a piece of cloth.
The witness continued that the atmosphere at the said secluded location was full of music, but he later left the said location at around 4:30am the following morning.
Eric Charlie Williams concluded that his second day of initiation was painful, but that he never sought medical attention, even though he made statement to the police in respect of the alleged murder incident.
At this stage of proceedings, the State Prosecutor, Adrian Fisher requested for an adjournment, so as to enable the prosecution contact its witnesses for their testimonies ahead of the next adjourned date.
The first accused person, Francis Mafinda was represented by lawyer, M. S. Bangura, whilst the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth accused persons were defended by Barrister, Augustine Marrah and M. L. Koroma ESQ.
Hon. Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay adjourned the matter to Thursday 31st October this year.
