The Government of Sierra Leone has enrolled the second batch of sixty victims of Kush at the Peace Mission Training Centre in Freetown shortly after discharging the first batch of forty rehabilitated service users affected by the drug, now turned Ambassadors.

Government is encouraging parents of the victims to have hope in the process of rehabilitating their children, as well as supporting the ministry through prayers.

The move is part of the rehabilitation process of Kush victims in the country.

Minister of Social Welfare, Melrose Karminty encouraged the parents of the victims to have hope in the process of rehabilitating their children, as well as supporting the ministry through prayers.

She compared the condition of this current batch to that of the previous batch, adding that the previous batch, through the help of God and government, is now seen as agents of change, noting that, her ministry has registered over four hundred Kush victims of which the rehab centre can only accommodate few.

She said they are still having the quality of service rendered being good and comfortable at all times.

Professor Foday Sahr, the newly appointed Chairperson of the National Tax Force on Kush, thanked the Kush victims and their parents for their willingness to come for rehabilitation.

He appreciated the minister for her leadership, adding that even before the president announced the national emergency, because of her proactiveness, she was able to guide the process, which saw the first batch of forty being rehabilitated.
