According to court records the two convicts, Sahr Kanoteh Ansumana and Alpha Sesay together with one Momoud Kamara who was discharged due to insufficient evidence against him, robbed the complainant, Abidondem Sesay of his one old Techno tablet mobile phone valued at one million Leones.

In his plea of mitigation, counsel for the two convicts, Ibrahim Thorlie pleaded with Hon. Justice Tonia Barnett not to slam a custodian sentence on his clients, as they are first time offenders.Â
Lawyer Ibrahim Thorlie informed the court that the convicts were arrested on 9th March 2017 and that they have learnt their lesson and that if given custodian sentence, they would spend the best part of their youthful age in prison.
After carefully listening to the plea of mitigation by counsel for the convicts, Hon. Justice Tonia Barnett said that the offences for which the convicts were charged are very grave; stating further that the court has a duty to perform to punish individuals who are engaged in criminal activities in the country.
She said that the convicts deserved punishment for their dastardly plan to rob the complainant, Abidondem Sesay of his personal belongings.
Hon. Justice Tonia Barnett wasted no time to sentence Sahr Kanoteh Ansumana alias Richie to three years imprisonment on count one and Alpha Sesay alias Alpha Bedor to four years jail term each.
The state was represented by Barrister Oladipoh Vivian Robin- Mason Jr. from the Law Officers Department at Lamina Sankoh Street in Freetown, whilst the two convicts, were defended by Lawyer Ibrahim Thorlie from the Legal Aid Board.
