Police alleged that the 8 accused persons conspired together with unknown individuals to murder Pharmacist Adeyemi Justin Patrick Johnson at his 65 Old Railway line residence at Wilberforce in the west end of Freetown.
The Charge Sheet also disclosed that the accused persons committed the alleged offences on 12th November 2012.
First accused, Alakeh Olive Johnson is also alleged to have procured and commanded her son, Eustace Masjid Cole who is second accused person together with six co- accused persons to commit the said offences between 8 November 2012 and 12 November 2012.
When the matter came up on Tuesday 5 June 2018, before Hon. Justice Sam Margai in the presence of the prosecuting Counsel, I. Kanneh and the defense Counsel F B Conteh, one of the jurors, Tejan George was conspicuously absent in Court, thus restraining the court from proceedings.
This ugly scenario left the presiding Judge Hon Justice Sam Margai with no alternative, but to issue a bench warrant for Tejan George.
Court record further stated that he has dogged court proceedings three consecutive times without informing or advancing valid reasons to the court.
However, the sad aspect about this matter is that the lead police investigator attached to the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarter in Freetown, Mohamed Dauda Kabba died at the tail end of his testimony
Furthermore, the foreman of the twelve man panel of jurors empanelled to give verdict on said matter also Julius Moiwo also succumbed to the cold hands of death.
The 8 accused persons included; Alakeh Olive Johnson, Eustace Masjid Cole, Edward Joseph Moijuei (alias Unomsil), John Turay alias (Leather), Abdul Rashid Jalloh (alias Skull), Tommy Joseph, Alie Conteh (alias Scholar) and Chernor Bah
Hon. Justice Sam Margai adjourned the matter to Tuesday 12 June 2018.
