Abass Bundu Elected Speaker of Parliament

Less than half of the 146 Members of Parliament (71 members) voted for him as the majority party in the House, All People’s Congress (APC) walked out. Four members of another opposition National Grand Coalition (NGC) party abstained from voting, while eight members of another opposition Coalition for Change (C4C) party and 13 Paramount Chiefs joined the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to elect Dr. Bundu.
