They include Seventy-eight Million One Hundred and Seventy-eight Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty-one Leones recovered from a private company which undervalued its goods whilst they were being cleared at the Customs and Excise Department of the National Revenue Authority.
The other monies were recovered from public officials.
It will be recalled that, two months ago, the Commission also recovered over Three Hundred Million Leones (Le 300,000,000) and Sixty Thousand US Dollars ($60,000) from the Hajj investigations, which was paid back into the account of the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs.
The Commission wishes to reassure the general public that it will not relent in ensuring that public funds are protected.
