The kick-off between East-End Lions FC and Mighty Blackpool attracted thousands of football-loving fans from all corners of the country with drums and musical sets and other items to support the two teams.
Speaking to the Chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, he said Sierra Leoneans were extremely happy that the national premier league has resumed and football fans can once again flock to the stadium to watch and support their favorite teams.
He added that the government of Sierra Leone has given an additional of Le1.5 billion Leone to the Sierra Leone Premier League Board to help the board to manage its business better.
He maintained that tickets sold out and that the stadium was full to capacity, adding that some people around the stadium, even sold tickets at slightly inflated cost to anxious fans.
He registered his appreciation to the government and the people of Sierra Leone for the huge turn-out during the first encounter between East End Lions FC and Mighty Blackpool.
