Ahead of the Premier League: East End Lions secures 600 million Leones sponsorship package.

Announcing the sponsorship package, Ambassador Navo disclosed that Ahmed Gento Kamara is the clubs major sponsor for the league season with 200 million Leones. Other cash sponsorship from Africell, Africa Young Voices, Sierra Fisheries, Kodami Enterprise and others summed up to 600 million Leones.

This is the largest sponsorship package any premier league club have announced so far.

Chariman of the club assured fans that the club is very determined especially the players and technical team and they are very motivated. Reports surrounding the team confirms that the team will be in camp as early as Friday, 48 hours ahead of their opening league match on Sunday.  

Whilst appealing for more support from especially their grassroots he announced that the club has secured an office space at Ferry Junction,eastern part of Freetown.

“ We are coming back to our roots. If you live in the East, you don’t have to come all the way to the West”.

East End Lions have roots in the central and east part of town. The club says they will be harnessing that support to push the team forward.

Ambassador Navo also disclosed their plans to establish a Football Academy that will be used as a breeding ground for young talents who will not only serve the club but the country as well.

Whilst thanking the Premier League Board for their patience and hard work ahead of the commencement of the league,Navo who sounded very optimistic said East-End Lions will settle for nothing less than being crowned as champions.

Mohamed Gento Kamara, Chief Executive of Gento Group of Companies who also doubles as deputy chairman of East-End Lions said as a young man from the eastern Freetown, his connection to the club has been from his childhood days which is why he will always be ready to give his support financially and morally without any hesitation. He called on Sierra Leoneans to support the league by supporting their clubs and cheer them up at their different matches.

The club also unveiled its official team jersey for the upcoming league season.

The two sets of home and away team-kits of the traditional red and white were donned by two of the club’s players and displayed for the first time officially to the media and public.

Alhaji Mohamed Nabie former East-End Lions Elders Council chairman said he is excited to be able to be around to witness the progress of a club which to many of them is still part of their lives and will always be ready to support. He paid tribute to his contemporaries whom he said passionately served the club in different capacities from playing to managing the club.

He assured the new executive of their continued support and advice as elders who still enjoying supporting their darling East-End Lions and will always want to see it winning trophies.

Up to this point, East End Lions have done everything right. In addition to the recruitment of some of the best footballing talents, they have also assembled one of the best technical teams in the league, headed by former Leone star player and coach John Keister.

With all this preparation, the expectation around the club has grown over the last few weeks with fans and stakeholders expecting nothing more than winning the league by the end of the season.
