Alhaji entertainment sends pupils back to school

Awarding the scholarship to the pupils, Abdul Akim Kamara, manager of the Alhaji Entertainment   Production,   said   that   education   was   the   backbone   to   national development and they considered it very important to support those that couldn’t afford fees but were very determined to acquire education.

Kamara mentioned that they were not involved with the selection process and that it was done by the school authorities because they were in a better position to identify underprivileged pupils in the school.

He maintained that they were also able to verify that those selected were really the needy ones, expressing hope that the project would continue.

“Alhaji   Entertainment   Production   will   sustain   this   project   and   ensure   that   it continues to provide for the needy that are seek education,” he said.

Representing the school authorities, Lansana Mansaray, the bursar for the junior secondary school told AYV that the gesture was timely and that most parents were not prepared to pay fees because the government was used to paying for them for the last two years. He said less than 5 per cent had actually paid their fees. 

Adamsay Sesay, a beneficiary said the scholarship would serve as a motivation and that they would ensure that they did not disappoint them.
