Adding: “We need to be having good shows, and that can only happen with the support of the media playing our video clips. Also foreign artistes receiving huge money can’t invest that money to develop Sierra Leone instead they will take it back to their countries. Sierra Leonean artistes will invest the money paid to them for performances here and create jobs for our brothers and sisters.”

She said they would engage the media by establishing a strong partnership with AYV to start creating the platform for other media houses to join partnership.

All Stars president, Milton Koker aka Colabo, mentioned that AYV could start implementing the local content policy by allocating an hour play-time of Sierra Leone music.

“The $65,000 paid to Wizkid and $ 20,000 for the plane fare was taken to Nigeria but if that was paid to a Sierra Leone Artist that person might have invested it and created employment here”, he stated.

General Manager AYV, Dr. Rev. Victor Suma, said they were very pleased to work with the music industry to boost entertainment in the country, adding that the MOU they would sign with the music industry would be a way of promoting local content.

He furthered that AYV was ready to work them with because it would be done in the interest of developing Sierra Leone through entertainment.

“Having such Memorandum of Understanding signed between AYV and All Stars Sierra Leone will be the first time such a gesture will be made as a way of rebranding music industry through effective participation of a media house through the utilization of local content policy”, he said.
