She went further to say during the donation ceremony that she has been helping children in Sierra Leone for the past seven years, and that whenever she comes home, she brings along used clothing, shoes, school supplies and other items for distribution to vulnerable children.
She noted that her decision to visit this particular school was because of her sibling. She assured the school authorities of future support.
She went on to encourage the children in the school to always take their studies serious and not to lose hope as she is a testament of someone who has gone through serious life-threatening challenges but stood strong to become a motivational and public speaker in Canada.
“For me, I always say never give up in life no matter what. I’m a big example. If I’m somebody who had given up in life, I wouldn’t have been able to be who I am today,” Mariatu Kamara informed her audience.
