She maintained that so far they have managed to assist numerous girls from primary to tertiary level, adding that currently they have a number of girls attending universities who got to where they are today because of Angels to Angels SL support.

She went on to state that she is determined to do more for vulnerable young girls across Sierra Leone, adding that beneficiaries are selected based on need and vulnerability. She admonished the current crop of beneficiaries to make good use of the donation and concentrate on their studies; adding that once they are empowered, they would become successful women in society.

During the ceremony, a number of Mentors were introduced. These mentors would be responsible for taking the girls through their educational career to ensure that they guide the girls through moments which might be confusing or challenging, citing that there are times when situations can disrupt the attention of young people.

The donated items to each of the 300 girls was one 25 Kg bag of rice, one dozen exercise books, geometry sets, pens, pencils, bags and selected textbooks according to the subjects offered by the respective beneficiary. In addition, school fees for vulnerable girls attending private schools are also paid for by Angels for Angels while those in government and government-assisted schools benefit in other ways.

Children drawn from various schools including Gateway Preparatory School which produced one of the best NPSE results this year were among those that benefitted from the donation.

Delivering their thanks and appreciation to Angels to Angels SL for the donation, several beneficiaries who spoke with AYV said they were happy that they were considered and hoped that God would continue to bless Madam Fatu Quinie Sesay and give her a safe journey back. They called on other girls that are suffering for want of support to do well in school to avail themselves at Angels to Angels SL which according to them is a ‘kombra’ organization which seeks to help young girls discover their talents and intelligence to make them successful people in society.
