In his letter of resignation addressed to the National Secretary General of the APC, Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, Alhaji Kaikai thanked the Party for giving him the opportunity to serve his country over the years.
He wrote: “At this stage and with continued passion and intention to dedicate my life to the service of my Chiefdom and people of Pujehun District that I now announce my retirement from active politics and resignation as a member of the APC.”
Kaikai further disclosed that: “In due course, I will announce my intention to serve my Chiefdom, District and its developmental aspirations in a different capacity that will give me the time and latitude necessary to pursue such goals.”
Kaikai had previously served as Resident Minister Southern Province and Deputy Minister of Labour. He was one of the founding members of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) political party in 2005, a breakaway faction of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and later switched to the APC.
KaiKai is unarguably a strong political force to reckon with in Pujehun district in Southern Sierra Leone. More on his resignation on subsequent editions.
