The Chairman of EE Lions FC, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr. and executive members of EE Lions FC executive held a threesome conference at which the club signed a three year contract with the team’s Head Coach John Keister, unveiled new players and also unveiled the home, away and training jerseys for the upcoming premier league. The club also unveiled supporters’ jerseys while informing the general public about ongoing administrative and financial arrangements the FC has put in place to ensure that the team receives as much financial and moral support from fans.
Ambassador Navo explained that as defending champions, they are determined to maintain their unbeaten title at the last premier league season in this new premier league season 2019/2020. He said they are targeting at least five billion Leones (Le5B) as expenditure on the team to ensure that they take good care of their players for them to always be fit and prepared to take on any opponent, adding that 30% of this amount is already in the coffers of the club.
According to him, EE Lions has since 1928 been able to survive and be on top to present day because they hold they high esteem for the elderly members of the club who he described as a blessing as they proffer invaluable support to the club administrators. He urged all supporters of EE Lions at home and abroad to come onboard to ensure victory for the club at the end of the 2019/2020 premier league season.
Also speaking at the auspicious occasion was the President of EE Lions who doubles as Chairman EE Lions Elders Committee, Alhaji Momoh Koroma described the event as one of the finest moments in the history of the East End Lions FC. He informed the players that it is more difficult to stay on top than to go to the top. He however reassured the executive and players that with proper coordination of their activities in addition to aggressive training and coaching, EE Lions will maintain its title as defending champions.
Making a brief statement on behalf of one of the major sponsors of EE Lions, Africell was Abdul Karim Sesay. He pledged his company’s continuous support to EE Lions, adding that it is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Dr. Fatu Taqi the National Global Coordinator for East End Lions membership drive explained to her audience how East End Lions supporters can come closer to the club and interact with the players and executives, adding that they are putting in place modalities which would enable supporters to contribute financially thus, giving them the opportunity to have a say in the affairs of the club.
Lawyer for EE Lions FC, Mr. Bangura conducted the signing of a three year contract with John Keister who is now officially the permanent coach for the club. He informed his audience that for too long now they were being provoked of only having players that were on loan. He maintained however that this time round, they are signing a contractual agreement with the coach and the players which gives the club legitimate right over them.
Some of the new players signed by EE Lions include Ibrahim Sillah aka Agogo, Ibrahim Kabba aka Taribo, Alpha Joh Kamara, Kamson Fofanah (from Denmark) and Alimamy J. Kamara.
