The residents around the Kingtom Bomeh dumpsite are on daily basis complaining about the poor atmospheric conditions of their environment, in addition to the health hazards posed by the smoke and acrid smell coming from the fires.

They maintained that as a result of this environmental and health hazard emanating from the dumpsite, they are afraid for their lives and want the dumpsite relocated to a more conducive site. They added that this condition hampers visibility of drivers and causes many residents to panic at the thought of breathing in poisonous smoke from the fire.

They disclosed that the fumes from the Bomeh dumpsite are destroying even the clothes they wear apart from giving them skin disease and other sickness ranging from headache, itchy eyes, chest problems among others.

However, the residents are pleading with the government to relocate the Kingtom Bomeh dumpsite to the rural areas as it is unfit for a dumpsite to be located within the city, adding that the relocation of this Bomeh will greatly enhance the transformation drive of the FCC initiated by Mayor Aki Sawyerr recently.
