The Road, which is substantially completed will be temporarily opened to traffic this morning at 10.00am, whiles the remaining works will be carried out during the maintenance period after concluding contractual requirement with the contractor and consultant.
According to SLRA, the move is in line with the project’s objectives and the desire for the government of Sierra Leone to provide additional alternatives for commuters plying the route between the far end of the Peninsular and the Central District.
SLRA has encouraged the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) to put mechanisms in place in respect of traffic management on the new road. Keep reading AYV newspaper for more on this.
