Receiving the donated items on behalf of the school, Headmistress Battu Johnson said such a gesture from the management and staff of Atlantic Lumley Hotel will definitely boost the academic work of the school and contribute to the pupils’ career success.
She went on to say the items will also help to reduce financial burden on parents and guardians of the pupils, whilst further thanking the donors for thinking of the school as beneficiary of the gesture.
Speaking earlier whilst handing over the items to the school’s administration, Sampson Fung, General Manager of Atlantic Lumley Hotel stated that education for children must be a concern to all. He assured that as a business entity operating within the same community hosting the school it will continue to give support to the betterment of the school and other schools across the country.
He said they were happy to donate to the school, adding that all the school materials donated are aimed at improving the lives of the future leaders.
On her part, Basita Michael, Legal Representative of Atlantic Lumley Hotel said the hotel is aimed at supporting education in the country, underscoring the importance of education in building a country.
She called on business owners across the country to also support schools in order to build up the educational sector of the Sierra Leone.
Parents present at the event and school pupils jointly thanked the management and staff of Atlantic Lumley Hotel for providing them with such a wonderful gesture.
