“The General Manager, Rev. Dr. Victor Suma, the Human Resources Manager, Mrs Veronica Blake and the Head of Television Mr Abib Munzir should be specifically thanked and recognized for their relentless efforts in ensuring the successful running of the Empire”, he said.
He said before Munzir came to work for him he had met him at ATM Television in the United Kingdom during one of his tours and pleaded with him to help in establishing an AYV channel in the United Kingdom.
“He told me to give him some time to watch the AYV programmes online and he got back to me after some time, bold enough, to say that AYV has not got any content and therefore cannot gain attention in the UK” he said, adding that he immediately contracted his service to help boost content.
He called on all staff and volunteers to give their fullest supports to the Head of Television so that he could do his best for the company and disclosed that they were working hard to have a channel in the UK, with four staff already recruited to commence work.
He warned those in the habit of using company equipment to work with some ex-staff of AYV to desist forthwith or they would be prosecuted by law, adding that nobody was indispensable at AYV.
“The company has enough money to keep it running for the next seven years. I will not allow anyone to be an obstacle to that. We have a ten-year business plan and we have just spent three years out of the ten. So, we have enough money to run this business and no one will stop that except God,” he assured.
The CEO said that mid-December the company would establish studios in the provinces, adding that all equipment to facilitate that process had arrived in the country. He said he would soon travel out of the country to bring in experts for the establishment of the studios in the provinces.
“Our aim is not just to make profit but to give voice to young people and also take the television to the last man in the village” he said, and thanked the President, Dr. Earnest Bai Koroma, for his continued support to AYV.
While Executive Director of Africel gave motivational talk vision in life, AYV’s General Manager, thanked all for their collective efforts in making him succeed, adding that more efforts were needed to ensuring that they reached the peak.
Dr Suma encouraged the staff to give their all in what they were doing, and observed that many had been with the company for quite some time now but had nothing to show as a sign of improvement to their own personal lives.
