This is the first time blind pupils have been engaged in a football match. Many spectators were in attendance to watch the pupils in the pitch as they exhibited their talents.
Unisa Deen Kargbo is the President for the National Paralympics Committee of Sierra Leone and he spoke on the reasons for the competition, saying it was to ensure that even blind pupils can also take part in doing things people that are not blind can do and also to ensure that they keep fit.
Emmanuel Alimamy Fornah a representative for Bombali School for the Blind Panlap, Makeni and Salieu Turay the head for Milton Margai School for the Blind in Freetown also gave their impressions on the match as it ended goalless.         Â
Five players, rather than 11, make up a blind football squad- four blind players and a sighted goalkeeper. The ball contains loose ball-bearings so it rattles when it moves allowing the players to locate it as they play.
