Passengers travelling from Waterloo to Bombay Street in Freetown have accused drivers plying the route of dropping them half the way they are paying for.
The passengers said they are paying the complete required transportation fare for them to be taken from Waterloo to the bus stop on Bombay Street, but that the drivers will deliberately drop them half the way, causing them to walk the remaining distance to their respective destinations.
Ibrahim Sorrie, a regular traveler on the route said he has been a victim of the unfavored act of the drivers.
He said on several occasions, he has been dropped at Cline Town and sometime at Upgun Turntable instead of Bombay Street where he paid for.
“This is a very unfortunate act and must be stopped. I am appealing to the authorities to intervene, especially the Sierra Leone Police.” Ibrahim appealed.
However, one of the drivers plying the route, Ibrahim Gbla has denied the allegation, stating; “all of know that our last stop is on Bombay Street, but in most days, because of the heavy vehicular traffic leading to Bombay Street from Upgun and Cline Town, most passengers choose to disembark the vehicles and walk the remaining distance”.
He concluded by advising his colleague drivers to desist from such act if at all some of them are on it.
