The Sierra Leonean-born Striker Mohamed Buya Turay currently in Sweden playing first division professional football for Djurgarden IF has contributed for his side to be crowned champions for this season. Turay’s sixty-fifth minute equalizer against IFK Norrkoeping made their side clinch this year’s league season title with sixty six points ahead of their rival Malmoe FF with just one point difference. Mohamed Buya Turay is the second Sierra Leonean to win the Sweden Allsvenskan division one league. In 2013, Alhaji Andranhio Kamara won it for Malmoe FF. The 1.78 meters striker’s goal in the second half made him finish as the 2018/2019 top goal scorer with 15 in total. Mohamed Buya Turay is currently on loan from Belgium side St. Truden. However, with this remarkable achievement for the young sensational forward Mohamed Buya Turay winning this year’s title and earning the Golden Boot will attract top clubs to get his service. According to records, Mohamed Buya Turay is the third African footballer to win the Swedish Golden Shoe. The Swedish Allsvenskan is the country’s first division league seeing most Sierra Leonean players plying their professional trade. As Sierra Leone’s national team Leone Stars is preparing for this month’s Lesotho clash for the Cameroon 2021 AFCON Qualifiers in Freetown, the technical team might possibly select Turay to start the match. No football fan in the country will be allowed to watch the Leone Stars match against Lesotho, as the FA is facing a sanction from FIFA.
