According to the young star, the country has a lot of young and dynamic footballers that have the potential to become professionals and to play football in top leagues in Europe and other parts in the world.

“Young footballers in Sierra Leone have great skills and they have the mentality too,” he says, “but what is lacking is the training.”

He furthered that no sooner government and football administrators’ start giving more opportunities to young footballers to be trained in professional football academies around the world then “Leone Stars” will have more players to take responsible role in the national team and the country will start qualifying and winning international football tournaments.

He went on to state that he believes if young players are given more opportunities to play football, Sierra Leone will produce more professional football  players like Nigeria, Ghana and other African nations.

Meanwhile, Bockarie says Leone Stars performance in football tournaments that are being conducted by the FIFA and the CAF is not satisfactory, but will improve tremendously if provisions are made for young players.

‘I am optimistic that the next generation of young professional footballers will not only take Sierra Leone to the World Cup, African Nations Cup and other major football tournaments, but will also win and bring home trophies and laurels to the nation,” he added

He therefore urges the government to start investing more in football by building football academies and infrastructure where young people can be trained to become professional footballers and also encouraged young players to work harder to ensure their dream in football is achieved.

“I feel lucky and blessed to be where I am, I wish more other young people in Sierra Leone will have similar opportunity,” he said.
