For this reason, she said Climate Change, Environment and Forest Conservation (CEFCON-SL) decided with the help from organizations such as the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environmental Protection Agency in writing a whole chapter on natural resources and environment. She also said such a chapter has never been in the 1991 constitution. Madam Sesay said the position paper includes laws on land, climate, natural resources, environment and forestry and wild life conservation. She said it is the right of a citizen to have a clean, safe, healthy and balanced environment.
In his response to the officials from Climate Change, Environment and Forest Conservation, the Chairman of CRC, Justice Edmond Kawan said there is no particular chapter for resource management but will hence be included into the constitution and has to be implemented. He also said laws on local government and citizenship were not on the constitution, so it is on resource management not until this position paper was written.
