In his welcome address, Chief Liberian Mr. Sallieu Turay lauded the effort of the Bank Governor and team for the partnership between the bank and the library and promised them that they will do everything possible to disseminate whatever information the bank deems fit to share with the general public to reach them at their door step as they have well equipped libraries all over the country.
Mr. Turay stressed the importance of using the library to disseminate information as the world is now coping up with both digitalized and manual library system. He said that the library is a collection of sources of information and similar resources, made accessible to a defined community for reference or borrowing. It provides physical or digital access to materials, and may be a physical building or room, or a virtual space, or both.
In his remarks, the chairman of the board, Prof. Sahr Thomas Gbamanja lauded the effort of the Bank of Sierra Leone to partner with them to ensure that the public have access to information of the bank. He assured them that the Board will monitor closely their shelf to see that materials are available especially for research purposes.
In her remarks, the Director of Human Resource of the Bank of Sierra Leone, Jenneh Jabati on behalf of the Bank Governor thanked the Sierra Leone library Board for having given them the opportunity to share valuable information to the general public. She commended the Chief Liberian and staff for developing the library system in the country.
Madam Jabati assured the library that they will continue to give relevant information to be display in their shelf like newsletters, speeches, public notices and generally, the operations of the bank.
