Christian Health Association Sierra Leone (CHASL) has donated drugs and assured other supports to the Christ Healing Center Hospital and Community College on Thunder Hill in Freetown.
CEO/Medical Director of the Christ Healing Center Hospital and Community College, Mohamed Caleb Kamara thanked CHASL for the support to his institution, while expressing hope that more supports will be given to the hospital.
He said as part of its mission, the hospital seeks to contribute to the health needs of Sierra Leone by training primarily nursing and other health professional students and by providing holistic health services to the Thunder Hill and its surrounding communities in particular and the nation as a whole.
CHASL is a Non-Governmental, not for profit, Christian interdenominational health coordinating agency with its Secretariat based in Freetown and has been in existence since 1975.
It has a network of over 43 active member health facilities spread across the entire country strategically located in deprived, hard to reach rural communities where often public health facilities are in existent serving in most case as the referral facility for the catchment population.
CHASL member health facilities provides 30% of the health services to the population of Sierra Leone making it the second largest service provide in the country. These health facilities provide various services ranging from In-patient medical, outpatient, surgical, paediatric, reproductive maternal, adolescent, mental health, ophthalmic care among other across the board.
The institution contributes to the health agenda in the country complementing the MOHS/ Government effort.
CHASL has a long-standing relationship with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation as well as with other key partners including UN agencies, Cord Aid, Difam, CRS, Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC) and Bread for the World.
