The Hon. Chief Justice of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Lordship Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards; Master and Registrar-Elaine Thomas-Archibald and other Justices of the Court of Judicature joined the bereaved family of the late Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Desmond Edgar Fashole for the 40th day memorial mass.
The 40th day memorial mass held at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Wilberforce Barracks in Freetown brought together sympathizers from different walks of life.
The Hon. Chief Justice was joined by Supreme Court Justices, Nicholas Browne-Marke (JSC) and Glenna Thompson (JSC) and Appeal Court Judge, Alhaji Mohamed Momo-Jah Stevens (JA).
Hon. Chief Justice Edwards said they were there to sympathise, console and offer prayers for the late Chief Justice. According to him, the late Chief Justice did his best to bring sustainable reforms at the Judiciary.
After the 40th day memorial mass, the Master and Registrar-Elaine Thomas-Archibald visited the bereaved family at their Spur Loop residence, west end of Freetown to present video clip, picture frame and photo album that were put together throughout the funeral service until final interment on Friday, 26th March, 2021.
Receiving the items, the widow, Mrs. Monica Luke thanked the Justices and entire Judiciary management for sympathizing with them during such difficult moment.
The late man served as Chief Justice of Sierra Leone between March, 1998 and May 2002. He was a respectable Diplomat who was appointed by late President Siaka Stevens as Ambassador to West Germany to open relationship with Sierra Leone.
