Chief Minister returns home after successful Summit in Dubai

Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has departed Dubai for Freetown after his successful participation at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

During the visit, the Chief Minister held series of high-level discussions and bilateral meetings. Below is a summary of major highlights of his engagements.

  • As distinguished Guest Speaker, the Chief Minister delivered an address at the main plenary of the Summit, highlighting President Dr Julius Maada Bio’s ‘Big Five’ initiatives, with key focus on the flagship ‘Feed Salone’ agenda.
  • Dr Sengeh also participated at a high-level panel discussion that focused on the use of technology to improve service delivery, while also discussing major digital reforms in Sierra Leone to accelerate delivery, improve revenue mobilisation and reduce bureaucracy in the public sector.
  • Dr Sengeh again participated on a forum centered on ‘Minds on the Move: Human- Centric Empowerment’, where he spoke about global economic challenges and their impacts on livelihoods in Sierra Leone. He also shed light on the government’s radical inclusion policy and how that has helped to increase school enrollment, especially among girls.
  • The Chief Minister further held series of fruitful bilateral meetings that included the Prime Minister of Serbia, H.E Ana Brnabić; former United Kingdom Prime Minister, Tony Blair and Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the United Arab Emirates, H.E Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan. In those meetings, Dr Sengeh discussed President Bio’s development priorities and areas of investment in Sierra Leone.
