ChildFund Sierra Leone Supports Girls and Young Mothers at Sea View Community

The 97 girls and young mothers who were enrolled into the “ChildFund Sierra Leone Girls Livelihood Project” have successfully completed 9 months vocational and skills training in literacy and numeracy, business management, entrepreneurship, arts & crafts, parenting education and sexual reproductive health. In a bid to ensure an effective implementation of the project, the graduates will be provided with start-up cash grants of one million five hundred thousand leones (1,500,000 per person) to start up their private income earning initiative for the enhancement of their livelihood. 

In his key note address, the Country Director of ChildFund Sierra Leone, James Pimundu said “as an organisation our role is small one, by providing the resources, yours is the bigger one. He called on the graduands to work together as a team and not in solitude. 

He continued to note that that as a child focused and development organisation ChildFund has been complimenting the efforts of the government of Sierra Leone since 1985.
