He said the arrival of the team was timely and their work would benefit a lot of Sierra Leoneans, adding that they would supply life-saving equipment like monitors, oxygen machine, tracheal tables, venous catheters and isolated gowns to help boost the country’s health sector.
Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr Abubakar Fofanah, expressed gratitude to the Chinese for their continued support, adding that the country’s health sector needed help in order to provide its people with the required treatments for different ailments
The team from China said they would offer free medical consultation to patients at the Ola During Children’s Hospital and the Sierra Leone China friendship hospital. They also promised to provide appropriate technology training for medical staff in the country, noting that the maternal and children healthcare project was just one important step of their efforts to augment the government and strengthen the health system in the country.
