Being a loyal and a strategic Think Tank of the APC, in 2007 he was appointed High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to the Republic of Ghana and accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republics of Togo and Burkina Faso.
On graduation from the University of Sierra Leone he served as a teacher and rose to the position of Principal of his alma mater, the Kamakwie Wesliyan Secondary School. Ambassador Alhaji O F Yansaneh was a trail blazer coming from a predominantly remote area of the country where western education was a rarity and was the first Student from that school to graduate and went back to serve in the school inspite of the lure of staying in the city with the attendant “good life”. He is also a holder of a Law Degree from the Presitigeous Legon University in Ghana.
In 1983, he joined the Sierra Leone Civil Service and his dedicated service raised him to the position of Senior Assistant Secretary thereby serving as Personal Assistant to the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone until the military junta seized political power in 1992. When Sierra Leone was returned to constitional rule, Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh returned home to serve his political party and Country.
Born to fervent Muslim parents in Kamakwie, Sella Limba Chiefdom, Karena District (formerlly Bombali District) in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, he has fulfilled one of the fundamental pillars of Islam by performing the Pilgrimage in the Holy City of Mecca.
