The intervention of Nasser, according to many Sierra Leoneans, is very timely as musicians have a key role to play in the fight against Ebola as music is not only about entertaining but also educating the public.

Speaking to this press last Wednesday at his Africanus Hotel, Nasser stated he was impressed by the overwhelming support and gratitude he has so far received from councilors, Members of Parliament, ministers and the wider public.

He said he was emotionally touched by the outbreak of the disease and wasted no time to fly back to his country. “My conscience can never serve me right if I had stayed in London,” he stated.

He continued that Ebola is not only a mere disease but a tragedy that has hit poor people and even professionals like the two diseased doctors and several nurses in the country.

The track, he maintained, is for the entire Africa continent dedicated to those who have lost their lives and their families, and gives hope to the hopeless on the need to keep the faith because life has to continue after Ebola.

“Personally, I did this song to give back to my country as part of my contribution to Mama Salone and as a means of complementing the President’s effort on the fight against Ebola,” Nasser disclosed.

Although other artists have received some incentives from government and other humanitarian organizations for sensitization, Nasser squeezed from his pocket to release the track.
