The essence of the donation is to help revive the lives of Ebola survivors and orphans in Masiaka and other places in Port Loko District in order for them not to feel discriminated due to their situation.
It could be recalled that due to the outbreak of the Ebola in the country thousands of people died including children while others became orphans.
In this regard the Development Initiative Program (DIP) a non-governmental organisation thought it fit to help these people by donating food stuffs, school materials and cash to help sustain their lives and also help the children continue their education.
Hawa Siaffa, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Development Initiative Program (DIP) said that this is not the first time DIP has embarked on such initiative to seek the interest of Ebola survivors and orphans in Sierra Leone, while adding that since the establishment of her organization they have been going round the country helping poor people including children.
She further explained that, since the country has been declared Ebola free it is high time as a nation people come together to seek the interest of the less -privileged rather than waiting on government to do things.
Presenting the items Mohamed Kamara a representative from TERRATECH encouraged the people not to feel they have been neglected as they too are part of society and advised them to put the money into good use especially to their children returning back to school.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their delight for such gesture and thanked the Development Initiative Program and TERRATECH for their good work and promised to use the items wisely.
It is expected that such a philanthropic work would improved the lives of the people and help the children return back to school.
