Dr. Kabba Hosts Goal 16 Delegation

Sustainable Development Goal sixteen focuses on enhancing peace, justice, inclusive society and building strong institutions. The advance peaceful, just and inclusive society’s conference is the first ever to be held in Africa that is geared towards experience sharing to build stronger institutions.

In his statement the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Alie Kabba said that the New Direction government committed to abide with goals 16 even during the campaign, citing that it is clearly articulated in their manifesto, especially in the area of good governance, democracy, peace and justice for all is being demonstrated.

“We are doing this because we believe that it’s the cure priority of a government” Dr. Kabba Said; adding that they will be remembered of not just winning an election, but making sure of strengthen their institution and that ordinary people believe the New Direction is all about the dignity of the people .

Dr. Kabba asserted they are going to create a two ways democratic society, stating that President Bio’s promised on inclusive development and democracy in a just a peaceful society, he was speaking on a cure believe that the quest for power is not about himself but making the country a better place.

Dr. Kabba disclosed that their commitment goes beyond the conference, adding that they are going to stay engaged and make sure all leaders of the government buy into the idea.

“We are going to scale it to a level even where local communities get to know that this is a commitment of the government”

“We are making a commitment to stay engaged as we have learned some lessons from this discussion” Dr. Kabba said.

Speaking during the program Secretary General of World Federation of United Nations Association Bonian Golmohammadi  said that goals 16 was probably the most controversial goal, stating that it was compulsory for member states to champion as Sierra Leone done.

“We are very happy that Sierra Leone has joined other nations to be a key drivers on goal 16” Golmohammadi said; adding that Sierra Leone has a very valuable lesson to teach other nations and help increase the momentum.

Golmohammadi disclosed that it is the second time for the conference, but first in the African continent, citing that they have many participants from different segment of the society as it one of the key points of goal 16 to include everybody.
