The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (EC-SL) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) extended the verification period for ad-hoc polling staff payment across the nation.
The move aims to expedite the disbursement of payments to polling staff members and the joint verification exercise, which covers all 16 districts in the country, will now continue until Friday, September 1, 2023.
To ensure an efficient process, the verification exercise will observe a brief break on Sunday, August 27, 2023, and will then resume on Monday, August 28, 2023.
Polling staff members who are yet to undergo the verification process are strongly urged to take advantage of this extended window for physical verification.
The EC-SL call center will remain operational, receiving incoming phone calls until Friday, September 8, 2023, offering further assistance to polling staff.
The extended verification exercise is specifically aimed at completing the verification process for all polling staff who participated in the June 24, 2023, polls.
Polling staff who have yet to undergo verification are encouraged to visit EC-SL District Offices between Monday, August 28, and Friday, September 1, 2023, from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily.
It is important to note that September 1, 2023, is the official cut-off day for physical verification, and September 8, 2023, marks the end of Call Center Operations related to the exercise.
