The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (EC-SL) has today extended the period of voter registration by 2 days, commencing October 7-8.
The Commission said it will use two days period (5th and 6th October 2022) to reconfigure and deploy equipment and staff to the centres.
The extension according to EC-SL is owing to the initial challenges encountered with setting up of the equipment and deployment of Staff which delayed opening of some Voter registration Centres across Sierra Leone in the first phase of the process.
The extended period will be limited to all 1,815 registration centres of the First Phase.
The EC-SL said the Second Phase of the voter registration exercise has been very successful, and the Commission is satisfied with the turn out and the data collection process.
The Commission has appreciated Sierra Leoneans for their peaceful participation and further encouraged those who have not registered to take advantage of the extended window to exercise their right to register.
