The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (EC-SL) and the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sierra Leone Scout Association for the observation of the 2023 general and local council elections.
The MoUs will enable the scout association to provide queue controllers for the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone and become peace ambassadors across the country for the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion in order to conduct violent-free elections in the country.
In the general elections approach, the Scouts will embark on community sensitisation of youths and women on good decision-making skill in order for them to be able to select good leaders and not engage in any Act of violence.
