The donation was accompanied by an announcement for the provision of educational scholarships for fifty (50) pupils affected by the flood. It includes the payment of school fees and provision of learning materials including school bags, books, pens and pencils, in addition to provision of food and medical support for children spanning a period for at least six months to one year.Â
According to Emmanuel, he is not representing any organisation or group, but that the donation was put together with contributions from two of his friends based in Norway.
“I will like to announce here that this donation was made possible by the intervention of my two friends, Baard Straiheim and his son Evinid Straiheim, both of whom feel so connected to Sierra Leone after their last visit,” he announced.
Emmanuel expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the flood victims, noting that the donation was a demonstration to the fact that his heart remains with them.
He called on victims to continue to be strong and believe in God.
Philomena Isatu Turay, Camp Manager representing Office of National Security (ONS) welcomed Emmanuel to the camp and expressed appreciation over the donation.
She described Emmanuel and all other philanthropists as family members to the victims, while pointing out that the donation towards education is unique and will go a long way to support to children.
Alpha Kamara, a victim at the camp prayed for God’s blessings upon Emmanuel and his team.
He called on all philanthropists to continue to support them until they conquer this fight.
