Hon. Sheriff Carew made this statement during the official lunch of supporters’ jersey for Fourah Bay Community football team at the Suliamaniya School hall on Sunday 18th August 2019.

The Fourah Community will be playing against Bambra Town community in their opening encounter in the COFA inter- community league at Parad grounds. It could be recalled that before the commencement of the just-concluded 2019 National Premier League it was different community leagues across the country that had been keeping the hopes of players alive.

Hon. Sheriff Carew went on tell the well-attended meeting which was witnessed by non-political actors such as religious groups and the likes and stakeholders of various football families that are throwing their support in favor of the Fourah Bay Community Football Team that there is no reason people should allow political differences to divide the community.

He called for the attention of the people saying that national politics is over within the community and so everyone should embrace each other in the interest of the development of the constituency at large, adding that being a supporter of the ruling or the main opposition party is not something that should be above the interest of Sierra Leone.

“I love my people and I will not relent in my usual support when the need arise and the donation I make today is not that much of a concern to me but the peace and love amongst people is my concern,” Hon. Sheriff Carew said.

He donated millions of Leones and football logistics of other items to both the Fourah Bay and Kossoh Town Community teams to help them in their respective preparations for the upcoming competition at Parade Grounds.
