High Court has granted former President Ernest Bai Koroma, an order to travel to Nigeria on medical grounds.

It comes amid fevered speculation that the government and former President Ernest Bai Koroma reached a deal last week to allow the 70-year-old to relocate to that country following Treason charges against him.

The ECOWAS Commission President, Dr Omar Alieu Touray visited the country for the second time since the November failed coup attempt.

Koroma did not appear in court yesterday something for which his lead lawyer, Joseph Fitzerald Kamara, apologised before tabling the medical report and the court order.

Kamara would not say when his client would leave but information meeting this press say he might depart the country on before tomorrow Friday. Attorney General and Minister of Justice would not comment on yesterday’s outcome. The case was adjourned to 6th March, 2024.
