He further informed his audience that the World Peace Diplomacy Organization award is not just another award but a special award which recognizes personalities of caliber that are making remarkable progress and achievements in promoting humanitarian issues in their country of origin, which positively impacts on societies across the world, thus enabling these societies to adequately effect changes in the lives of vulnerable people including women, girls, children and people living with disability.
Towards this end, Prof. G. D. Shingh said the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Bio deserves the award for her relentless work in advocating for better health, education and other aspects of the general welfare of not only girls but also women and people living with disabilities. He admonished other women in and out of Sierra Leone to emulate the excellent example being set by Fatima Bio.
Receiving the award, Fatima Bio said she is delighted and grateful that there are people out there that are monitoring her activities to the point she has now been appointed World Peace Ambassador by the prestigious World Peace Diplomacy Organization. She promised to make good of the confidence reposed in her by the World Peace Diplomacy Organization, adding that this recognition has given her more resilience to continue doing what has made her so popular – promoting the welfare of girls, women and people living with disability among other categories of people that need help.
