He further explained the long standing relationship between the Freetown City Council and the Hull City Council and their contributions in supporting developmental strive over the years.

He furthered that William Wilberforce was a philanthropist that advocated for the abolition of the slave trade, adding that Wilberforce was from Hull city and it was one of the reasons that called for the twining of the two cities.

He reiterated that the Hull City Councils supported the Freetown City council in the reestablishment of local governance in 2004 and 2005 by empowering the council with garbage trucks and other equipment, pointing out that the two cities want the cordial relationship to flourish.

A member of the delegates, Ernest Brewah popularly known as Vamboi promised that they will showcase the best parts of Sierra Leone’s culture in England. He said the Hull City has been part of Sierra Leone’s history as he referenced the abolition of the slave trade.

He established that he would be the one representing the cultural heritage in the cultural performance, emphasizing that it was a good thing that the country was invited which could be a way of showcasing the other good aspect of the country that would be meaningful to other participating countries.

The exhibition and festival is said to be a fusion of cultures of major cities across the world under one umbrella.
