First Lady Denies Owning Project for Inmates

The first lady said It is morally wrong to take credit for another person’s hard work because the team that is working to help inmates to work and earn, through agriculture is the brainchild, of Abdulai Parteh Bah.

“As much as the Office of the First Lady loves the venture, the initiative is wholly conceived by Mr. Bah. The Office has never claimed credit for this, also the Office has not contacted the SLCS concerning this matter or any matter like such” She affirmed

An official of the First Lady’s Office said that Abdulai Bah contacted their office for assistance but unfortunately, the Office of the First Lady could not assist financially, but decided to encourage his patriotic effort by requesting the Media team from SLBC assigned to her office to promote his work.

‘There was due diligence involved. We had a team on his farm for 3 days because our Office had to be sure he is not just a farmer on paper, but an actual farmer” he confirmed.

It was also made clear that the partnership the Office of the First Lady has with Abdulai Bah, is to promote his good work on SLBC so that Sierra Leoneans will follow his lead and invest in agriculture and that at no point was the Office of the First Lady trying to take credit for the work of Mr. Bah.

“The Office of the First Lady is of the firm belief that Sierra Leoneans taking up farming with their own finance and initiative should be encouraged” another official concluded.
