Sierra Leone’s First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio and African First Ladies have arrived in Addis Ababa at the African Union Summit.
First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio said the first ladies are at the summit with one mission which is to change the way things are done in the African continent.
“We spoke with one voice and determined to see a positive change in our individual countries. Our agenda was clear, Closing the Gender Gap for our women. We talked about financial inclusion, we talked about the safety of our children, we talked about women representation in politics and in all decision-making environments, we talked about women and children safety during conflicts, we talked about Menstrual Hygiene for our Girls and most importantly, we talked about donor partner’s relationship with the office of First Ladies”. Dr. Fatima Bio said.
She concluded saying: “We are not here to take over, all we want to do is complements our husband’s efforts in a way that also in pack more lives in a positive way”.
