Africa Youth Awards has released the list of the 100 most influential young Africans of 2019 and Mrs. Bio is 28 on the list whiles Mrs. Kaifala is 31.
The list is released annually to honor and celebrate 100 young Africans in recognition of their work across the continent.
The list marks its fourth year this year. It has helped shine a spotlight on the contributions of African youths to the continent. This year’s list holds a record of having mostly female honorees: 52 to 48. The honorees are from a total of 32 African countries, with Nigeria (15), South Africa (11), Kenya (9) and Ghana (8) having the most honorees.Â
The list includes activists, politicians, musicians, footballers, athletes, entrepreneurs, lawyers, comedians, DJs, bloggers, engineers, and scientists. Notable 2019 honourees are the first-ever African Union Youth Envoy, Aya Chebbi; Global Teacher Prize winner, Peter Tabichi; and Sudanese activist ‘Lady of Liberty of Sudan’, Alaa Salah. Ilwad Elman, a nominee for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for her peacebuilding work in Somalia, is also an honoree.
